A young woman in Nepal is getting a wave of online support after she confronted a man who exposed himself to her on a public road in Imadol, Lalitpur.
Ritu posted about the incident on Instagram, explaining that she was just walking alone when a man in his 40s exposed himself to her, right in the middle of the road. She was quick to point out that she wasn’t dressed in anything revealing — just regular pants and a t-shirt.

But instead of walking away, Ritu went after him. Video of the incident shows her chasing him down and forcing him to bow at her feet.
What she said
Ritu didn’t hold back in her post. She made it clear this wasn’t a joke or some harmless prank — it was sexual harassment, plain and simple. Her clothing had nothing to do with it, she said; the real problem is people who think they can get away with harassing others.
She explained that she shared the video because she doesn’t want any other woman to go through what she did. Everyone, she said, deserves to feel safe just walking down the street.
The video took off fast on TikTok and Instagram, sparking a fresh wave of conversation about how unsafe public spaces can still feel for women walking alone.
Police get involved
Once the clip went viral, police opened an investigation. They’re now going through the footage and gathering evidence, trying to track down and arrest the man in the video.
Ritu’s willingness to speak up — and to confront her harasser head-on — has clearly resonated with people online. Her stance on accountability has added to a much bigger conversation happening right now about the harassment women deal with in everyday public life.
